European Football Federation (UEFA), shorten the list of competitors for the award for best player last season to just three.
On the smaller circle remained only Lionel Messi – Barcelona, his great rival Cristiano Ronaldo – Real Madrid, and the french Franck Ribery – Bayern Munich last year Champions League winner.
This decision was made by UEFA due to the number of votes that all nominated players have received from which these three players were voted a head drastically against their ciothe number of votes .
